This will need two repair packages - I'll post them later today, when I get the chance.

Hmmm - we have a problem...
The relevant Update (KB2467659) for 32-bit Windows doesn't appear to be available through any of the normal channels.
The 64-bit version is available - but useless for our purposes.

There are notes on the relevant KB article that may be related...
Quote:
Note Users who have installed update KB2416400 from the Microsoft Download Center but have not installed this update (KB2467659) will be offered security update KB2416400 through Windows Update. To work around this issue, install KB2467659 from the Microsoft Download Center or when it is offered by Windows Update.

Note These issues are resolved by security update 2482017. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
2482017 (MS11-003: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer )
MS11-003: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer
However, they don't point to a solution for your problem.

I'm going to ask someone if they have the relevant files (I don't ) so that we can sort this out without a repair install.

Don't run away!

Got 'em!

I've uploaded a file - bftaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder bftaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Once you've done that, please run SFC /SCANNOW, and post the full CBS.log file (you'll have to copy the file to the desktop before compressing it for upload)

W7 64bit:Ok to install 32bit programs outside the 32bit programfolder?
OS: Win 7 64bit. Is it generally not a problem to choose to install a piece of 32bit software outside the win 7 default program folder for 32bit software? Or is 32bit software only supposed to be running flawlessly, if installed in that default 32bit folder? Thanks.
