What happens when you attempt to run SFC?
What happens when you attempt to update Windows?

We need DETAILS to be able to help - EXACT error messages, and the circumstances under which they appear.

'servicing missing in the registry'?? WTH does that mean?

I cannot update windows. I cannot run sfc. Update just spirals. SFC gives error code 126. I was missing windows componant based servicing. Ran numerous fixes. Got it to appear in the registry, but still not repaired. Cannot run fix it. used cc cleaner to try to repair but no luck. Also ran malware bytes and everything shows clear. HAve also had the error 8007000efd

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

im having the same problem where the subkeys in my HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing is missing.

where i need to edit the string value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Version in order to repair my windows updates problems.

If that subKey is missing then your only option is a repair install.
