Update icon in System Tray ..... any way to change it please

Now sorted

Not exactly an important issue but I just wondered ......
is it possible to alter or replace the icon in the System Tray that appears when my Windows 7 Home Premium is updating?

I have limited eyesight and find the tiny pale blue icon hard to spot which has often led me to thinking my computer is unwell when it is actually only being slow as updates are being downloaded/installed.

I have Googled and tried a program designed for Windows 8 to replicate showing update progress in the System Tray:
How to Show ?New Windows Updates Available? Notification Icon in Windows 8 Taskbar? - AskVG

It worked initially and had a lovely bright blue icon but seems to have disappeared once my computer was restarted.

Any help or hints greatly appreciated

There'as an interesting thread on the Windows 8 problem here No Windows Update Notifications?
it may be worth attempting to us the script(s) provided by hardcodeur in that thread.

You may try putting the a shortcut to the one that's already worked into your Startup folder, and see if that stops it disappearing on reboot - I've not tried it, but it looks to me as if it's effectively a standalone that needs to be started each time, rather than something that is installed and runs as a service. If that works, you could be more sophisticated about it, and create a Scheduled Task for it to start earlier/later in the boot process if necessary
