CBS Zipped File

I think I have eventually uploaded the CBS files that you requested but I still canīt find the windows update log file, so will need more detailed help. P.C. seems to be working great today after running that program yesterday and it fixing an update that I was having trouble with. (touch wood). Thanks for being patient.

Go to Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\Windows folder
you'll find the windowsupdate.log file there.

your original problem appears to be with the update for KB2976627.

You have an error in the CheckSUR that I've never seen before...
Code:
Cabinet C:\Windows\CheckSur\v1.0\windows6.1-7601-x86-cab1.cab was either not found or its signature was not valid. (2148098064)
Deleting.
Cabinet C:\Windows\CheckSur\v1.0\windows6.1-servicing-x86-2jan13.cab was either not found or its signature was not valid. (2148098064)
Deleting.
This is likely to result from one of three/four causes.
1) bad download
2) malware
3) interference from an AV
4) bad hardware.

ESET should be protecting you from malware - it has a good reputation.
The most likely explanation is simply a bad download, so please download another copy of the Windows 7 x86 (32-bit) version of the file from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=167366

save it (we'll need it again, very probably) and then run the saved file.

post the new CheckSUR.log file (it's in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder)

That's exactly what you were supposed to do, but it's possible that the file you got was corrupted somehow - downloading a fresh copy and running that will (hopefully) establish that, and give us some real data to work with.

Should I delete the other one first as itīs a big file?

May as well - if it is corrupt it's no use, and if it isn't, then we'll have a new one anyhow.

New CBS folder

Downloaded again but no choice of 32 0r 64 bit, so hope itīs right. Think the attachment is what you need.

Not sure what an AV is when you say possible causes. Thanks again

Shouldn't there be a few new ones (important and optional ones) since one month? Yesterday I read about the new IE11,...
