Last week ( August) Windows updates

I just read somewhere else that some people are having issues ( such as BSOD) since the last Windows updates.( Last week)

I have Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit and thus far no issues.
Do I need to uninstall some of these Windows updates? If so, which ones? ( I am seeing conflicting reports on which to uninstall).

thanks in advance for your help

I have installed all the updates on multiple computers with no issues.

I would not uninstall any of them at this point.

Here's the official advice - but my personal view is that if you're not having problems, leave them alone.

    Ms14-045

    thanks for the replies.....

as of today ( Aug 28, 2014) I am not having any issues.

However, I see yesterday that the following update showed up in WIndows update.....MS14-045.

It apparently addresses the problems that some people have been having.
I have not installed this update since I am not having problems. Has anyone installed this latest update?

    thank you

    PbCopter,

did you uninstall 2982791 ( previous update causing some problems) before installing yesterday's update?

Despite the advice from MS, it's my belief that if the earlier update installed without problems, there's no need to uninstall it before installing the revised update.
The advice appears to me to be pure CYA - the new release is not merely a revision, but a totally new beast. Therefore anyone who had this installed (as I did) without problems should also have no problems with the newer version.

It's only if you've not either installed the original version without problems, OR not run a new Check for updates since the original patch was released, that you need to be careful.

    Windows latest update

    NoelDP,

the description of this latest update from MS ( MS14-045: Description of the security update for kernel-mode drivers: August 27, 2014 ), lists know issues that it has. Would installing this latest update just create more problems. As I mentioned before, I have the previous updates installed and have not uninstalled any of them and I have not come across any issues from those previous August updates. I just don't want to add another layer of issues by installing this latest update.

I would appreciate you thoughts. Thank you

    WIndows update

    NoelDP,

Specifically I am referring to the following statement from MS:

    Known issue 2

After you install this update, the z-order of the windows is changed. (The z-order calls the SetWindowPos function together with the HWND_TOP parameter.) Therefore, the windows of certain applications may become invisible or may be incorrectly displayed behind other windows.

    Status
We are currently working on a resolution for this issue.

    Notes
This issue also occurs after you install the following updates:

I looked under my installed updates and I see that KB2970228 is installed

    thanks
