Windows 7: Activation issues.

Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64-bit

Activation issues.

I replaced the hard drive in a friends computer, HP DV6 I believe. Re-installed Windows, but didn't use the discs that came with the computer, just used a regular Windows 7 Home Premium install disc, but did use the key that came with the computer. Tried activating it and it said "the computer BIOS is missing a required license?" and gave me Error Code: 0xC004F063.

I went online and found these steps to remedy the problem:

1. Click the Start button
2. Type: CMD.exe in the start search field
3. Right-Click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator
4. Type: net stop sppsvc and press [Enter]. (You may be asked if you are sure, select yes)
5. Type: cd c:\windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform and press [Enter]
6. Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar and press [Enter]
7. Type: cd c:\windows\system32 and press [Enter]
8. Type: net start sppsvc and press [Enter]
9. Type: slui and press [Enter]

So after I did these steps it said: Duplicate file or file cannot be found.

Not really sure what to do next, any advice?

Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/234159-windows-genuine-activation-issue-posting-instructions.html

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194

(you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.
