    Windows 7 no longer Genuine

Hi, Im new here and wondering if this can be fixed at all, after 10 years my windows 7 Ultimate is no longer genuine, ive no idea why ive not had updates enabled since windows 10 was being pushed out via update.

I bought the pc with windows 7 installed and doesn't have a key sticker anywhere.

Ive got a win 7 system backup that I made a few days before this happened if that would help.

I cant understand why its suddenly become none Genuine the only thing thats changed recently is a new hard drive which ive cloned my windows 7 to and duel boot now with windows 10 both of which I have done a month or so earlier before the none genuine status.

    Thanks!!

    Michael

    Hi MichaelJG,

Welcome to SevenForums, do you have your 25 character Win 7 Ultimate product key?
I believe the key in use (*-*-PJW6W-9GK29-TMPWP) is a Lenovo volume license key.

    Thanks @torchwood

    Hi
Snick is correct the key in use is for a Lenovo computer, and "stamped" on the motherboard during manufacture.

Seen a couple of these SUDDENLY non-genuines after years of being "good"
Your comp had an activation exploit installed, it has no OEM SLIC 2.1 table and an AMI motherboard

Pretty sure that the W10 install has deleted the "hack" to bypass activation on your w7 OS.
Dont believe your backup will return as genuine either, because where the hack file was generally placed the W10 install has either used/deleted it

I had the same thing, the day after MS end support for 7, I got the not genuine thing. That was after 5 years of no problem.
I could never get rid of it for long, and it would come back.
