Recovering an MS Office key from windows.old

Hey all,

I recently upgraded to Windows 8, and lost my install of microsoft office 2013. I no longer have the CD Key and my key is not linked with my microsoft account so there's no good way for me to find it. I've been trying to use ProduKey to find the key; however, the file located at C:Windows.old\system32\config\software where they keys apparently are does not exist. Am I screwed now or is there still a way to recover the key?

as far as im aware there is not a way to "pull" out an old activated key. If there was im sure it would be heavily encrypted.
