Windows Updates Install Issues

Hello all,

I am attempting to finish updating my computer and have been unable to get past 3 updates which keep throwing the same errors. I ran a sfc scan which showed no errors and installed the SURT. I've also attached screenshots and CBS files (in 4 parts because the file was huge).

Hope someone will be able to offer me a solution that doesn't involve a re-install, which is what MS suggests.

Thanks so much.

Hello blackshade mate one check you could do is this

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html< if necessary include the /f switch in the command line as per Option2 if absolutely necessary use the /r switch too

Haven't looked at the files yet so just go ahead with this and see what crops up if anything

CheckSUR found these problems..
Code:

It looks to me as if the SoftwareDistribution folder may also be corrupted - but we'll worry about that later.

I'll post a fix protocol for the files above later.

I've uploaded a file - bsdaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder bsdaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folders inside it (Manifests)

Copy the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I checked the disc and no errors were recovered. Just thought I'd let you know.

CheckSUR is now happy - if we're lucky, this will be enough to allow the Updates to install.
Do a Check for Updates - try to install ONLY the oldest update found.

If it fails - what error message do you get?
If it installs OK, try the others.

Well, I gave it a try and it failed. Error message this time was 8024200D. What could be going wrong?

With any luck, this should be fixed by installing from the standalone patch. - please upload your C:\Windows\Windowsupdate.log, and I'll see what else I can find.
