    I think it's extremely unlikely to be the problem.
    It's more likely to be related to a bug in Samsung SSDs - AnandTech | Firmware Update to Fix the Samsung SSD 840 EVO Read Performance Bug Coming on October 15th - I don't know if the problem also affected the 830 series, but it's worth checking that you have the latest firmware installed for your model.

Hello all... I wonder if somebody could inform me about the following... I received an, KB2998527 (A September, 2014 time zone update for Russia is available) today. Is this completely necessary to install? Even though I am from then UK. Or should I hide it? Thanks.
