    I think it's extremely unlikely to be the problem.
    It's more likely to be related to a bug in Samsung SSDs - AnandTech | Firmware Update to Fix the Samsung SSD 840 EVO Read Performance Bug Coming on October 15th - I don't know if the problem also affected the 830 series, but it's worth checking that you have the latest firmware installed for your model.
