    Win7Prof Error while Updating to SP1: TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE(0x800B0100)

Just installed successfully Win 7 Prof on a Lenovo notebook but get an error while installing the SP1 (KB976932). I've tried with the integrated update routine and the stand alone package with the same result.

As I looked around and researched for a while, it seems to me that the only solution might be to use your help by following your steps :)

    1. I executed Windows6.1-KB947821-v33-x86, the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT).
    2. I ran the SFC Scan who didn't found any problems.
    3. The Windows Update error code is 800B0100.

You have an error in CheckSUR which will prevent almost any update from installing..
    Code:
    Unavailable repair files:
     servicing\packages\WUClient-SelfUpdate-Core-TopLevel~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~7.6.7600.256.mum
     servicing\packages\WUClient-SelfUpdate-Core-TopLevel~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~7.6.7600.256.cat
I'll post a fix in a few minutes.

    I've uploaded a file - 7jnaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder 7jnaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folders inside it ( Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

    where is the file?

That was fast, but the file isn't there. Not one beginning with 7, not a similar one and no one from today. Please check again. Or am I doing something wrong?

Sorry about that - I forgot I'd run a CHKDSK on the drive my Onedrive synced with - which disconnects it, and needs to be manually restarted.

It should be up there now.

Good - that's fixed the CheckSUR problems.
    Does Windows Update work now?
Do a new Check for Updates, and install only the latest OLDEST one found.

    Solved

Sorry for this delay in responding.

I installed the SP1 and all the other subsequently updates successfully, not further problems or errors-

I thank you very mush for your great and fast help.

Just for curiosity: What went wrong? Is there anything that I might have done wrong during the installation or a chance to prevent this special or similar errors in advance? What exactly you have done? Just gave me proper files from your collection or was there something to do like creating/writing these files? As I saw that you getting a lot of these request and answered them very fast in general, I am wondering that there is no fully automatically way to solve these issues.

And this whole forum here is a spare time project and you guys offer this kind of help for free because you like to struggle with these thing? :) I have deactivated my adblocker on this site but still remark no advertisement? I am good in taking gratefully those thinks for free , but anyway, what about some flattr buttons pr something like that on your user profiles?

Something went amiss in the Windows Update Agent install - and that will block any other updates from installing.
This could be from bad timing, or malware, or the action of an AV - no way to tell

Glad to hear everything is OK now - Good luck!
