The installed Product Key is the Default Key for Windows 7 Ultimate - and can never be activated.

Your machine appears to have shipped with Vista installed.
How did you upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate?

This I Got from Dell for my Dell Vostro desktop.
I got PC with XP Pro installed and upgraded to Windows 7 directly.
It was working fine till I reformatted the desktop (after 3 years due to application issues) and could not activate after that.

What type of Windows 7 license do you have - Full, or Upgrade? (If Full, OEM or Retail?)
