Well guys this has been exciting, but apparently futile. I just tried the IE10 Windows Update again, and received the 9C59 error once again.

So you successfully installed ie9 ?
Did you download the last two updates you posted ? if so roll back to that point before installing them or uninstall them,

Shut your machine down and redo the update posting instruction,

No I didn't install IE9. I have never received IE9 as an option in Windows Update. Just IE10 and IE11. And I CAN install IE11 for whatever reason, just not IE10.

And no I didn't install the last two updates. I downloaded them from the prerequisite site, but when I went to install them, I got a message saying they weren't applicable to my computer (or something similar to that).

So just to be sure,

I downloaded the Readiness Tool,
Rebooted the PC
Double Clicked the "Windows6.1-KS947821-V33-x64.msu" file
It launched an installer for "Installing Hotfix for Windows (KB947821) Update 1 of 1"
And now appears to be stalled, with the progress bar showing no green in it at all.

The System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) runs when installed - let it finish, it only looks hung

It downloads system cabs (big!) and then then runs similar to SFC - so it takes a while.

After SURT finishes, please run the SFC again now that you're getting the 9c59 error.
Please follow the instructions in OPTION TWO of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Copy C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log to your Desktop (it is a protected file so you cannot attach the original)

Attach the copy of the entire CBS.log to a new post.

Thanks

I can't get IE10 or IE11 to install
Sorry - not exactly a novice, but I get a server error when I try to attach my CBS.zip file. My guess is the file is too large at 11mb. FYI- when I ran /scannow, I got no errors. The reason I'm trying to attach the cbs.zip file is because I can't get IE10 or IE11 to install on my Win7...

IE10 and now IE11 fail to install. Prereq KB2670838 not applicable
Hi, I have tried via the Microsoft forums and got no where. Initially I tried to install IE10, but it keeps failing as pre-requisite KB2670838 will not install. On trying the standalone installer it comes back saying 'This update is not applicable to your computer'. Now the same is...

How can I fix my IE10 after that update from IE11
Not too long ago Gregrocker was so very kind and totally did a reinstall of my Windows7 Home Premium Edition 32-bit for me. Can I revert IE11 To IE10?
I currently have IE10 on Win 7. Before I install the new Update to IE11, I want to know how I can revert back to IE10 if issues develope, and if so, how. I read that IE10 can be reverted back to IE9 by merely going into Uninstall Programs and deleting the Microsoft IE10 Update. But, if I...

IE10 and IE11 FTP Explorer view issues
Interesting thread here. Basically if you want to keep using FTP in explorer view with normal functionality then steer well clear of IE10 and IE11. IE10 wont allow me to open FTP files in Explorer View Sadly MS shows no inclinations to fix. I feel IE10 and IE11 are a backwards step over...
