Hmm - please run another CheckSUR scan. That error is typically because of missing manifest files.
Post the new CBS folder and the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file
Here are the new folder and logfile: https://www.dropbox.com/s/36uecxkas6...pdate.zip?dl=0 (The update failed again)
The CBS.log shows the following error...

I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive
Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.
Here is the new COMPONENTS file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qyi3j82r0d...-2014.zip?dl=0
Please open an Elevated Command Prompt
When command prompt is launched, type in the following command and press enter:
DISM /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
Then reboot your computer, booting into Windows normally. Run this FixIt in aggressive mode: You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services
then reboot again and run CheckSUR and SFC scans and post the logs - do NOT attempt to install updates yet.
Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.
I get this error:

OK - we'll have to try running it from the Repair Environment then...
reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.
Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
When command prompt is launched, type in the following command and press enter:
DISM /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
Then reboot your computer, booting into Windows normally. Run this FixIt in aggressive mode: You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services

My acquaintance executed the command, but got this error:
Het DISM -logbiekbestand is te vinden op X:\Windows\Logs\DISM\DISM.logCode:Error:1639 The command-line is missing a required servicing command For more information, refer to help by running DSIM.exe/Image=<Path_to_Offline_Image>
Do you have any idea what causes this error?
