    I've uploaded a file - dwdaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the file and select Extract All, andsave to the default destination (which should be a folder on the desktop)

Create a new System Restore point

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the followingcommands.

    Code:

    IF EXIST C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS.OLD1 DEL C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS.OLD1
    REN C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS COMPONENTS.OLD1
    COPY %userprofile%\desktop\dwdaa\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\System32\config

    .

If you get an error with either command, STOP THERE -do not reboot! - post for instructions.

Assuming both commands go OK, reboot, and run anotherCheckSUR scan - post the new CheckSUR.log file.

Sorry for the delay - was out of town for several days. I have followed your instructions, which resulted in the system performing 55 updates. I ran the SURT tool and it found no problems (CheckSUR.log file is attached). The 4 updates that I previously had problems with have disappeared, so it appears that the problem has been resolved.

    Thanks!

deafwood, would mind elaborating what you fixed back then around Components? I tried to look at your upload to figure it out, but the file is not there anymore.

I am facing the same issue and some hint even if conceptual would help

    Thanks!
