Errors while using windows update.

Hey after looking around for a while it seems this site genrally manges to resolve peoples problems with windows update. Below will be a list of the errors and the steps I have taken so far.

Downloaded the System Update Readiness Tool and installed it

Completed a SFC scan (no problems detected)

Ran the windows update repair tool

Errors:

The 1st error is the mighty 80070308

I tried the fix that is on the microsoft boards posted by Kissko that has helped many people

I then followed the steps outlined in another post on your boards here

apprently the reg line I would need to delete isnt there.

Renamed the file called %windir%/SoftwareDistribution



The second error code I recieve after running the windows update repair tool it is

0x80070005 in which it states after that it could not fix this problem


I couldnt attatch my log file that your posting guide said I could attatch I got a 404 error from your page.

IM guessing its to big as the file size is 36mb and the max size for the upload is 8 I have added a dropbox link for it below. (well relised I had done something bit stupid, file is now uploaded to the post.)

This is a new install of windows before whenever I had errors during updated from a fresh install I allways just reformated and started again which solved the problem 9/10 times but this time I really would like to find a fix for this.

I get a 404 (moved or deleted) error on your DropBox link??


Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Unfortunately, it doesn't tell me very much

Please upload the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file, and your Event Logs...


Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
Save the file as Appevt.evtx
Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

From the looks of it you are having driver problems.
You need to update the graphics drivers (at least) - preferably from the motherboard manufacturer's website, rather than Windows Update. The problem driver appears to be a RADEON HD6450.
You also appear to be having problems with Intel drivers (in general).

Perhaps we need to check file integrity fully....

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
At the Command prompt, type
CHKDSK C: /R
and hit the Enter key.
You will be told that the drive is locked, and the CHKDSK will run at the next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.
The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a second auto-reboot)

Post the new Application event log.
