    Windows 7 SP1 x86 WU Error code 800B0100 on KB2998527

Need help fixing this bugger of a computer at work. Had 2 errors on 3 updates in total, managed to get rid of one error and install 2 of the 3 updates, last update and error are still being very persistent.

SURT did not help, neither did other various WU repair methods (sfc /scannow, FixIt's, etc). Windows Update Troubleshooter still indicates "Problems Found" "Windows Update error 0x80070057(2014-11-03-T-07_16_24A) 'Not Fixed'" and" Cryptographics service components are not registered 'Not Fixed'"

Attached CBS logs. Thanks for your help :)

    I've uploaded a file - tfsaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder tfsaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

No errors found after performing your instructions. The update installed via WU as well. I now understand how this all works too, very cool. The next time it happens I'd imagine I can copy the required files from a working PC to C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages and tun CheckSur again and BOOM it will use those files to repair/replace/fix the corrupt/missing ones. Good stuff! Thanks NoelDP!

    Great - glad it worked.
Note that there are other errors that CheckSUR will identify - and which cannot be fixed so simply, so be careful what you attempt!

    Good luck!
