    Windows not genuine after re-install on laptop


    I upgraded the hard drive to a solid state in my laptop and reinstalled using the OEM windows 7. After re-installing windows is telling me that my product key is not genuine. System specs and MGADiag below. Does anyone know why it's telling me I'm not using genuine?

    Seem like you haven't activate your Windows 7. You might have to call Microsoft.

    From your log.

    Notification Reason: 0xC004F009 (grace time expired).
    This should be helpful.

    click Start, right click Computer
    Click Properties
    Scroll down to Windows Activation
    Click the link x days until activation.
    Click the link that says 'Show me other ways to activate'
    Enter product key
    Click Next
    Select Phone Activation
    Click Next when Enter your key page displayed
    Select your country
    Click Next, call the number listed
    Remember to explain to the call agent your situation.
    Provide the generated installation ID when requested by the call agent
    They will give you a confirmation ID in return, enter it
    Click Next to complete the activation.

    (I prefer the 'direct' method the one above will land you on the automated system which often doesn't work with this type of error)



    telephone activation (operator calls)

    Click on theStart button

    in the Searchbox, type

    SLUI 4

    and hit the Enterkey

    follow theinstructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephoneansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can dealwith you

    I forgot all about that method. I did wright it down in my little notebook. Now all I have to do is remember I wrote it down.
