Do NOT use that tool! - please delete it!! - it's almost certainly either total hogwash, or actually malware.

The error you got is identical to the one that I get - and my system is working properly

Yeah, I am not planning on installing it.

I am hoping that this can lead to fixing the user & groups issue as well.

Would it make any difference running anything in safe mode?

themexican I highly recommend following Noel's instructions and Noel's instruction only.

Do Not go wondering off with tools or ideas you have seen on other sites.
Doing so is a direct road to a clean install.

Hi Layback Bear, yeah, NoelDP has been amazing and I am hugely appreciative for the help I have received so far.

I would like to contribute any way I can and unfortunately, the only way is by searching through forums and other sites.

Could you also put in there what security programs you use.


Just curious.

Do you use any tuneup, cleanup or registry programs?
You don't need to put them in your specs I'm just curious.

I have Norton 360 (v21) and I use CCleaner, but I don't run them as often as I should

Sorry - it's been extremely hectic in real life - I've spent the past three days fighting a virus on my boss's PC (I think I'm winning ), plus other sundry bits of fun...

I'm not a fan of any of the Norton products - CCleaner is fine so long as you don't use the Registry cleaner part of it.

See the possible solution given here...
