I'm thinking I'm going to have to do the Windows 7 OS Repair option from the install CD unless anyone else has any ideas?

Yes, the time is correct. I did the repair install over night and it downloaded 155 updates while I was at work. We'll see if it installs those as well as IE 11. Thanks for your help. I'll report back with the final results.

It worked! Probably the easiest solution too. Didn't know you could do that with Windows 7 until I found it on Google.

The guide I used: How to Repair a Corrupt Windows 7 Installation | PCWorld

This is also a good how to from these forums: Repair Install

Solved! Solution: Repair Install

It is actually an upgrade with same version. All settings will remain the same so all software works as before. As a result the problems saty as well.... unless they are in the resetted system part.

Many but not all updates failing on Windows 64-bit
If I run Windows Update pretty much all installs fail. If I run them manually and individually some updates will succeed. Windows 7 SP1 fails either way - typically with either a transactional conflict or a "used a name reserved for something else" error message. I've run SURT several times and...
