This copy of Windows in not genuine

I have had my system for several years. Today my windows is giving me the message "This copy of Windows in not genuine".
I don’t know if it is a side effect of having been infected by hijacker Groovorio a few weeks ago. I removed it with several freeware scanners.
I used a Key Finder to get my product key. But it will not take it, its says "The product key appears to be a default key".
I have rebooted and still get the same problem.
    Can anyone help with this?
How can I find my real product key?
    Thanks for any help.

I found a sticker on the side of the computer that had my original ID. I entered that into Windows Activation and it accepted it. The "not genuine" message went away.
Below it the info your requested that, but I didn’t get your request until after I entered the original ID.
    Am I good?
