    Windows 7 - not running genuine Windows 0x8004fe21


    Installed a new SSD on 08-12 (cloned the c:drive after a clean install)
    Been through about 300 windows updates
    since 10-12 I started receiving the same message as discribed in this thread.
    Can I execute the same driver as mentioned or do I have to post a diagnostic report (and how do I do that?)

    Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

    Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

    Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

    I thought this would be the problem...

    This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

    Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
    try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194

    (you want the iata_enu.exe download)

    Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.


    If the driver fails to install try this version instead...

    Unlikely but possible - the issue seems to be resolved now, and there are no problems with the new report.
    You should no longer be seeing notifications.

    Yes, the issue is still there.

    Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

    If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)
