    Windows validation problems continue

HP Pavilion, 3 years old, running Windows 7-SP1 Professional
    up to date on patches
I'm still getting errors from MGADIAG.exe, which I'll append below.

The MS validation tool doesn't seem to complete download
    and run.

I've done a lot of the fixes/reboots/shut off anti-virus recs
that have been recommended, & this is where we're at.
I haven't seen any "not genuine windows" popups yet today,
but they appear at seemingly random times.
KB3024777 to fix an issue with KB3004394 patch - done, w/ multiple reboots
I did not do the intel drivers re-install - it looked like the ones I had
installed were newer than the downloads, this is also what the system told
me, so I stayed away from this change.
    sfc /scannow
    C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
    system shows
"Windows is activated" & OEM code in the validation section
    MGADIAG.exe:

What is watweb.dll? slmgr.vbs? I've read a little about these
& as far as I can tell they are unchanged for many years.

watweb is part of the WAT update - while not essential, it does help protect your system.

    Close all open windows.
Open an Elevated Command Prompt window, and type the following command

    wusa /uninstall /kb:971033

    and hit the Enter key
Accept the warnings/confirmations, and wait for it to complete

copy and paste the output (if any) from the command prompt window to a reply here,
    Reboot

    reinstall the update from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033
    Reboot

run another MGADiag report, and post it.

Hurray! This is looking better. I see validation error 0 in the
mgadiag pane (here it's somewhat obscure). Any significance to the
    slmgr.vbs error below?

The new error message is a very rare one - which I've only seen a couple of times...

    Try this..
Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands.

    REGSVR32 wshcon.dll
    REGSVR32 scrrun.dll

You should get 'success' pops from each - reboot, and then run another MGADiag report

Hmm. There's something new that's wrong. "system" from control panel now shows
2 days until automatic activation. Activate Windows now
and clicking on that leads to the phone activation popup.

This system has has been in activated windows for years & was
so during all this mishegas, until today.

Noel is taking a well deserve rest could you do a couple of thing so he can take a look later.

    1. Can you run Windows Updates again? Does it work properly?

    2. Could you post another MGADIAG.exe
I'm thinking Noel will want to see the report after you completed your system validation.
He can see a lot of things that us plain mortal might miss.

Thank you. I will go back to watching.
