There is a problem with your Software Protection Service - something is preventing it from starting on demand the way it should.
Please use the following in an attempt to isolate the cause.

    Click on Start
    in the Search box, type
    SERVICES.MSC
and hit the Enter key - accept the UAC prompt if you get one.
Look in the console for the Software Protection service, right-click on it and select Properties.
make sure that the Startup Type is set to Automatic (Delayed Start), and click Apply.

Try starting the service now - do you get an error message? Does it start? does it almost immediately stop again?
Post back with your results, and a new MGADiag report.

If it doesn't start, then please do the following...
Please open an Elevated (Administrator) Command Prompt window and use the following commands....

    net start sppsvc
    sc qc sppsvc
    sc queryex sppsvc
    sc qprivs sppsvc
    sc qsidtype sppsvc
    sc sdshow sppsvc

Copy and paste the output to your reply

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

    Also...

(Have you EVER used Norton software on this machine?)
Please run the following commands, and post the results.

    REG QUERY HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\spldr /S
    REG QUERY HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_SPLDR /S
    REG QUERY HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\Legacy_SLSVC
    REG QUERY HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\Legacy_SPPSVC

    They may show something

The results there are all normal - so we'll have to go back to normal troubleshooting methods...

Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
    At the Command prompt, type
    CHKDSK C: /R
    and hit the Enter key.
You will be told that the drive is locked, and the CHKDSK will run at the next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.
The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a second auto-reboot) - then run the SFC.

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
    At the Command prompt, type
    SFC /SCANNOW
    and hit the Enter key
Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

Upload the CBS.log file (compressed, please!) to your reply - also post a new MGADiag report.

There's nothing amiss in the SFC data - but you may have some problems elsewhere..
From the background CBS log data
    Code:
     Line 98: 2014-12-24 16:54:02, Info CBS Failed to unload the COMPONENTS hive. [HRESULT = 0x80070013 - ERROR_WRITE_PROTECT]
     Line 180: 2014-12-25 01:32:27, Info CBS Failed to unload the COMPONENTS hive. [HRESULT = 0x80070013 - ERROR_WRITE_PROTECT]
     Line 1869: 2014-12-25 15:03:52, Info CBS Failed to unload the COMPONENTS hive. [HRESULT = 0x80070013 - ERROR_WRITE_PROTECT]
     Line 4143: 2014-12-26 03:56:58, Info CBS Failed to unload the COMPONENTS hive. [HRESULT = 0x80070013 - ERROR_WRITE_PROTECT]
     Line 4306: 2014-12-26 16:45:29, Info CBS Failed to unload the COMPONENTS hive. [HRESULT = 0x80070013 - ERROR_WRITE_PROTECT]
It's not unusual for the unload to fail occasionally - but persistent failures like this could well indicate corruption.

First, please open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands..

    ICACLS C:\Windows\System32\config
    ICACLS C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS

    post the results.

    Then....
(you may need to reboot to Safe Mode to be able to do this)

I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive

Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.
