The CheckSUR tool is a mass of commonly-found-corrupt files from Windows Update logs - and uses the Windows Update procedures to check and fix what it can. It doesn't however actually 'install' anything despite what the popup says

That's got the files fixed OK - now we go for the registry entries....

I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive

Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.
Huh, that's weird. No wonder I kept thinking it wasn't really doing anything. Here's the link to the components file...

If it's solved properly I'll be majorly surprised!
Please post a new set of logs.

Well the update supposedly installed. But I will post log files and such anyways. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Plus you seem to be the resident BA (no sarcasm, honest opinion after looking through other threads... that's a compliment in case in got lost in translation...) around here. So here goes...

ReRan updates check via windows update. Says no updates needed. :)

Let me know if you need anything else to double check that your first fix fixed my problem. And thank you a ton for all your help. :)
