    Error 800F0818 cant update to Windows 7 Sp1 (64bit)

    Hi guys,

i finally tried to install W7 SP1 after i ignored for such a long time.
Since even more programms and games need SP1 to be updated or installed, i decided to upadte my OS.

Trying to update SP1 in the past always resulted in errors like this one in the thread title.
I read many threads about this and fixed many issues by my self using the SURT and by copying missing or corrupt files in the Windows/Temp/CheckSUR directory.

I already solved a lot of the reported errors, but i cant get rid of the last 3.
After my research its all about Net.Frameworks 3.5 / KB2416471. Extracting the files from the MS update didnt work for me

Id would be great, if someone could help me

    CheckSUR.log is attached.

    Sorry for my bad english

    Any ideas ?

It looks like these two files are missing:

    Package_for_KB2416471~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.mum
    Package_for_KB2416471~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat

I cant find them in the Windows6.1-KB2416471-x64.msu. Can some upload them, please?

The error code has changed to 490 now ;-)

The 490 error code usually indicates greater problems than just missing package files.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

This is what I had feared. Therefore, I have now again performed a clean installation .
