You can also use Skype without a webcam.

If you have a webcam you can disable the image device in device manager, I don't think you can disable webcam use in Skype.

Good old duck tape can disable any camera. No need to be a computer geek.

I would be more ornery and rig a photo in front of it--Something naughty that can't be described here.

For chat! You don't need a webcam if you don't want.
No phone matches the ease of use of a real keyboard of a real computer when it comes to chat

That's if you know how to type. I still use the 'eagle find me a letter' method. A lot harder to chat then.

I would like to use Skype for Doctors appointments. You could see doctors in other states or countries. Since there is a hopsital in almost every county seat in the U.S. you could travel to the local hospital, the nurse does the normal stuff. Then the doctor will Skype you in a few moments. My cardiologist I really like is switching hospitals, don't know if I will like the new one.

I use the scriptural method of typing: seek and ye shall find.

Gosh, I guess I'm really "disconnected" these days. I still have a flip-phone.
LMBO, me too. I "love" my upgraded dumb phone, free from Verizon.
