Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Interesting - there's no apparent results from an SFC scan there?

The major error in the SP1 install appears to be this -
Code:
2015-04-11 16:44:25, Error CBS SPI: (CheckForPendingFlag:90)Failed to open component hive at C:\Windows\System32\config\components er=0x0

I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive

Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.

There should still have been the internal record of the run - something like 600 lines of it!

Hmmm - looks like I made a hasty diagnosis in my earlier post - looking again at the CBS log of the SP1 install, it shows this error...
Code:
2015-04-11 16:45:03, Error CBS Failed to verify if catalog file \\?\C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\03fddbbffdc149984fa1d6c3974c718d\update.cat is valid. [HRESULT = 0x800b0100 - TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE]
2015-04-11 16:45:03, Info CBS Failed to initialize internal package [HRESULT = 0x800b0100 - TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE]
2015-04-11 16:45:03, Error CBS Failed to create internal package [HRESULT = 0x800b0100 - TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE]
Which would explain why CheckSUR didn't find anything.

Try this - Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands>

SC STOP BITS
SC STOP WUAUSVC
DEL C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\03fddbbffdc149984fa1d6c3974c718d
SC START WUAUSVC
SC START BITS

Reboot, and then do a Check for Updates - then attempt the install again.

Here are some instructions to make life easier
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
