Upgaded to Win7 - do i have to keep my XP system/disks

Let's have a look at your MGADiag report, just in case.

we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

Hi - assuming we are just tallking about the Win7 installation, the COA sticker on the side of the DVD case reads WIN PRO 7 ENGLISH ROW VUP DVD; the MGADiag report reads:

Thanks for the detail! (it'll help me elsewhere)
That does look fine - I'd just been concerned because most Upgrades will cause problems after booting from the DVD, as far as activation is involved.
Yours looks OK, but in 'legal' terms, you are required to keep your original XP disk and paperwork handy to prove your entitlement to the upgrade should you be audited (yeah - read the small print!). There is VERY little chance of that ever happening, but...

(Oh - by the way, your Office installation is counterfeit!)

Anyway, thanks for the reassurance. I doubt the XP disk would fetch a huge amount so i'll probably hang on to it anyway. But at least i won't have to install it again.
