    Microsoft security update (KB2993651)

Belarc says I need update KB2993651 but when I try to install it manually it says not applicable to your computer. Maybe Belarc is wrong. Any ideas?

Belarc is usually pretty good, but it's not perfect. Here's the direct Microsoft download link. Read through the system requirements, additional info, etc. If you still think this update applies to you, try installing.

If it still doesn't install I wouldn't worry about it.

I just looked at your system specs. If you're still running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit then this update won't install. According to the provided details it's for an x86 (32 bit) version of Windows 7.

Yes I'm well aware of that and downloaded the 64 bit version and the same thing happened.

This update was published 8/26/14. The only other thing I can think of is Microsoft either updated this update or incorporated this update into a later update which is already on your machine and that's why it won't install.

I can't find any related later update for this patch.

    Back to basics...

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

There are no errors in either CBSPersist,CBS, SFC or CheckSUR files.

Please post the windowsupdate.log file - it may have something more than just a bald error code (though I wouldn't bet on it!)
