    First installation updates

Hello, ive upgraded to win 7 from win vista, and as im ricieveing updates, i noticed that it shows more than 250 updates, which seems too many, then i formatted again and im taking care of the updates,i posted a screen shoot of the first few update's and i noticed that the description is the same all is different is the size and the number in brackets,is there any settings that i can choose not to have duplicate updates or im mistaken thinks?

    Thanks

there are many versions of updates - some look very similar until you look at the KB number associated.
ALL are required (at least as far as security updates are concerned.)

Yes, different KB numbers means that these are different updates. Don't go by the description. That is often the same.

I know your question has essentially been answered but just to add 250 updates is about right then if you include all the optional updates the total is around the 400+ mark... A machine I did a re-install on last week (Win7 SP1 also) came to 466 updates... my ISP hates me haha

    thanks m8,

i don't care a second regarding the ISP ,sometimes we pay a lot more than we have, they keep on reimbursing their pocket then in the end they make profits,li here in my country, and someday you'll ricieve a letter regarding a 1 euro more in some monthly payment, and we can do nothing as we are in contract and contract says that they can change similar things due company reasons, and that's it.
