Windows 7 Windows Update service not working

Hi I am having a problem with my windows update service.

I have recently had a few computer issues and I am trying to work through them to fix up my computer as good as possible without requiring a fresh windows install as I have no wish to purchase a new windows 7 disc,

I have come across an issue in running windows update. When i click check for updates it says "Windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer"

I have restarted my computer, turned off the automatic updates, restarted again, turned it back on, restarted again and same issue.

I have run the NETSTART commands I have found on the internet, those are:

    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\system32>NET START WUAUSERV
    The service name is invalid.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2185.

    C:\Windows\system32>NET START BFE
The requested service has already been started.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182.

    C:\Windows\system32>NET START BITS
The requested service has already been started.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182.

    C:\Windows\system32>NET START TRUSTEDINSTALLER
The Windows Modules Installer service is starting.
The Windows Modules Installer service was started successfully.

    C:\Windows\system32>
I have attempted to install the system update readiness tool however when it downloaded I recieved an error: "Installer encountered an error: 0x80070424 the specified service does not exist as an installed service."

EDIT: Forgot to add I ran sfc /scannow and the tool didn't detect any issues

Attached are the CBS logs as requested per the instruction thread.

Hope you guys can help me out with this.

    Regards,

    Johnathon

a service has been uninstalled - the trick is to work out which service...

Please download the Farbar Service Scanner from

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-service-scanner/

Right-click on the saved file and select 'Run as Administrator', and tick all the options, then click on the Scan button - copy and paste the report to your response.

You have fairly massive changes in the services, as you can see.
I suspect that these are not the only problems, either.
I think your quickest solution is likely to be a repair install, if you have access to a Windows 7 disk.

Unfortunately, legitimate downloads for all Windows systems are no longer freely available ...and I would be very wary about downloading a torrent or similar. Do you have a friend who may have a copy?
With a custom build, I would have expected you to have a disk? How come?

The builder is legally required to provide a means of restoring the system to its ex-factory state.
This sounds as if he may not have been exactly kosher...

Please post a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.x
    - in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
