Why do I suddenly get a not genuine Windows notification?
Hello,
I created an account because I need specific help with this problem.
Recently, I suddenly got a "Build 7601 - This copy of Windows is not genuine" on my Acer laptop. I have been using it for two years and this is the first time it happened.
I've been searching everywhere on the internet and this MGA report seems to be important in determining the problem.
What I have tried until now (not chronologically):Code:Diagnostic Report (1.9.0019.0): ----------------------------------------- WGA Data--> Validation Status: Invalid License Validation Code: 50 Cached Validation Code: N/A, hr = 0xc004f012 Windows Product Key: *****-*****-CM74G-RPHKF-PW487 Windows Product Key Hash: 71BRYMECVaSXedfumfu8zryHJVY= Windows Product ID: 00371-177-0000061-85167 Windows Product ID Type: 5 Windows License Type: Retail Windows OS version: 6.1.7601.2.00010100.1.0.048 ID: {C649262F-EAF3-4E67-9EDE-6BFD6A7B0704}(3) Is Admin: Yes TestCab: 0x0 WGA Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Product Name: Windows 7 Professional Architecture: 0x00000009 Build lab: 7601.win7sp1_gdr.150427-0707 TTS Error: Validation Diagnostic: Resolution Status: N/A WgaER Data--> ThreatID(s): N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 WGA Notifications Data--> Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 File Exists: No Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 WgaTray.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 WgaLogon.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGA Notifications Data--> Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGAExec.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGAAddin.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGA Data--> Office Status: 109 N/A OGA Version: N/A, 0x80070002 Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-364-80041010_025D1FF3-229-80041010_025D1FF3-230-1_025D1FF3-517-80040154_025D1FF3-237-80040154_025D1FF3-238-2_025D1FF3-244-80070002_025D1FF3-258-3 Browser Data--> Proxy settings: N/A User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Win32) Default Browser: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe Download signed ActiveX controls: Prompt Download unsigned ActiveX controls: Disabled Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Allowed Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: Disabled Allow scripting of Internet Explorer Webbrowser control: Disabled Active scripting: Allowed Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting: Allowed File Scan Data--> Other data--> Office Details: <GenuineResults><MachineData><UGUID>{C649262F-EAF3-4E67-9EDE-6BFD6A7B0704}</UGUID><Version>1.9.0019.0</Version><OS>6.1.7601.2.00010100.1.0.048</OS><Architecture>x64</Architecture><PKey>*****-*****-*****-*****-PW487</PKey><PID>00371-177-0000061-85167</PID><PIDType>5</PIDType><SID>S-1-5-21-1833206298-4041067236-3587125154</SID><SYSTEM><Manufacturer>Acer</Manufacturer><Model>Aspire E1-451G</Model></SYSTEM><BIOS><Manufacturer>Insyde Corp.</Manufacturer><Version>V2.10</Version><SMBIOSVersion major="2" minor="7"/><Date>20130116000000.000000+000</Date></BIOS><HWID>042F3507018400F2</HWID><UserLCID>0809</UserLCID><SystemLCID>0409</SystemLCID><TimeZone>W. - Using keyfinder program to get my serial key, inputted it, but I get the message saying it is a default product key. I use the program because the number on my COA sticker has worn off. Actually, this is the first time I noticed the attached COA sticker on the bottom of my laptop, but there seems to be some trace of something written on it, so I assumed whatever was there has worn off.
- Check my update list, found KB3004394 installed (installed on 15 feb 2015), downloaded KB3024777-amd64.exe (my windows is x64), but when I clicked the exe file, nothing happened. Tried rebooting, but when I retried clicking the file, still nothing happened.
- I also rebooted a few times after each of the previous two, but still nothing changed.
Just in case, until just before I wrote this post, I can still see KB3004394 and no KB3024777 in my list of installed updates.
I'm sorry if there is anything inappropriate for this forum in this post.
Please help.
