registry corruptions are always a pain - if it's in the COMPONENTS hive, it's easy enough to repair, but the SOFTWARE hive is always loaded, and it's very difficult to repair in-situ.
Of course the problem is with the area that's hard to repair haha. Well, hopefully someone has an answer!
