    From post #20/

whenever i get around to restarting my computer again,
I don't understand. You can restart your computer any time your heart desires.

Surly Noels help is worth another restart and following his instructions as soon as possible.

may as well admit it right now, i'm extremely lazy. plus i have to wait about 5 minutes (sometimes more) for the flashing loading light to stop blinking (more like a solid white) before i can do anything faster than at a snail's pace. so usually i end up only restarting when a program is bugging me to.

plus i'm extremely careful about what sites i go to anyway, i don't think anyone's specifically out to send me a virus through Windows Media Player any time soon. i don't even use WMP much, i use Winamp more actually.

found that D is the drive i should run the command on, so i corrected it but stiol got error 87. i typed it in twice to make sure i didnt typo anything.

apologies for the bad photo quality, if it's not readable it says that cleanup-image/revertpending actions is an unknown option.

You missed a space before the /revertpendingactions

In general, anywhere in CMD, a forward-slash '/' requires a space before it.

looks like it did what it was supposed to do! Try Windows Update again... do a check for updates and see what happens.

windows update is creating a restore point right now, crossing my fingers hoping it doesn't get stuck at 35% and then fail again.

also, i'm guessing that by the lack of mentioning it, that scratch directory size warning isn't anything to worry about?

i dont think it worked, it's doing the same thing it's been doing, which is taking an unusually long time "preparing to configure Windows", getting stuck at 35%, then giving up and reverting the changes.

i dont know if this is of any help but i took a picture of the one file it tends to hang up on when applying updates before the login screen shows up.

Wait for it to revert, and then post the new CBS.log file, and C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file.
