Windows 7 won't activate after fresh install

    Hi,

after my hardrive crashed I did a clean install of Windows 7 (Ultimate x64) on a new disk on the same machine.
I used Keyfinder to get the key from the hive of the old disk which I was able to copy.
Windows activation tells my my key has been blocked and I don' know why.
    Can you help me?

It looks to me as if you bought a counterfeit (or stolen) copy of Windows.
The installed Product Key is a COA_SLP type - only valid on machines where the machine originally shipped with Windows 7 Ultimate installed, and not for sale to the public.

You can try using Telephone Activation, and talk to an operator - they may be able to activate it, if it's only a temporary block.

    telephone activation (operator calls)

    Click on theStart button

    in the Searchbox, type

    SLUI 4

    and hit the Enterkey

follow theinstructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephoneansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can dealwith you
