KB2952664 installed "automatically" after uninstalling certain updates

Nope, it doesn't work.

Installed 3035583 and then I tried to uninstall 2952665 via both methods as well as enabling/disabling Kaspersky as well. Though it doesn't work as I can see 2952665 still being listed on the Windows update.
On the other hand, I was able to uninstall 3035583 again via control panel.

With that being said, I've noticed two interesting points after performing these actions:
- 2952665 is still listed on the installed updates right after the uninstall process/restart
- Unlike any other Windows update, 2952665 doesn't prompt a pop up window saying it needs to restart the computer. Also after restarting there's no "reconfiguring Windows" screen just before the desktop shows up.
With the point two, I find this confusing as the installation of 2952665 produced no errors - meaning I can see the install bar filling up to the end and the window disappearing.

I see... So there's no way to remove 2952664 whatsoever? Is there any other solutions I could try?

Which method am I suppose to try? Also will second and third one uninstalls the updates I've installed?

None of them will uninstall anything - you'll simply lose the Updates History log, but all updates will still be installed, and visible in the Installed Updates listing.

Try with Option 2 first - if you get the same result, try it with Option 3

Finally! I was able to get rid of it by using Option 2 with control panel method. 2952664 was gone for good as it's missing from the list:


With that being said when I tried checking for updates, 2952664 or any other similar updates didn't come out. I also tried between restarts/shut downs however it doesn't show up whatsoever.

Is this some kind of bugs from Windows update? I initially thought my Windows update files were corrupted but as you know everything seems to be okay.

I think it was a minor corruption of the SoftwareDistribution folder that caused your problem - or possibly a registry error.

Hopefully, it won't recur (It's the only time I've seen this problem!)

Alright though I'm a bit worried about 2952664 not showing up in the update section. The fact that it just disappeared like that seems unnatural.
