Suddenly getting "Windows not genuine" error 0x8004fe22

A few days ago I started getting repeated pop-ups that "This computer is not running genuine Windows" which is absurd of course since I purchase this copy of Windows in 2010 and have had no problems with it over the last 5 years.

Here is the WGA Thing with the CBS thing attached.

I don't think that the problem is related to the one from the CBS.log - but there are tools that can deal with it, which we'll get to later.

    For the MGADiag problem...

    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\slui.exe|slui.exe.mui|COM Registration

To confirm that the problem is what I think it is, please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt window and post the results.

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA}/S
    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S
    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA}/S

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)

    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs,Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.

    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on thehighlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.

    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit...'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

    Thanks, Noel.

I should have mentioned, I saw those REG QUERIES in other topics on here that I searched, and for all three I just get:

ERROR: The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value.

I just tried again to confirm and yeah, it's the same. Screenshot attached.

    That's what I expected...

    I've uploaded a file - sluicom64.zip - to myOneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Save it to the default location

This should create a file sluicom64.reg

right-click on the file, and select Merge

Accept the warnings, - you should then get a 'Success' message.
    Close all windows, and reboot.

Run another MGADiag report, and post the results.

    That looks fixed to me

You can confirm it by going to www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate using Internet Explorer - it should pass.
If not, post back with a new MGADiag report.

    You're the best, thank you.

It actually failed at first, but then I ran "activate windows" from the start menu, and activated it (again,) and then it was successful. And now when I go to that link it says it's genuine (which is correct.)

    Thank you so much!
