I do believe you system is using a MSDN ID. key

Where did you get your Windows 7 from.

It was activated for more than 1 1/2 years. I had it custom built by a IT guy at my work and he got the software from a local computer shop (I don't know which one) that he buys all of his software from and he has built a lot of PCs including for local businesses.

While we are waiting for Noel are expert you could read this by Microsoft.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sub.../cc137104.aspx

I don't know how to fix your system other that a proper clean install and activation.

I recommend not doing anything until Noel drops by.

(You're getting good at these, Jack! )
The Key in use is an MSDN Key from a not-for-resale MSDN account.

Unless you are an MSDN subscriber, you are not entitled to use the Key and whoever sold it to you was not entitled to do so.

You need to claim an immediate refund from the vendor - do NOT accept the offer of a new key (all they are trying to do is to get past the 45-day claims window or avoid you sending the evidence of their crimes to the authorities)

Please read the following posts.... .................................

and

The pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as factories open in less well-policed countries.

You may be able to get a complimentary copy of the OS from Microsoft- fill in the Counterfeit report here...

Thank you Noel.

@fofiddyracer

Your option is a Clean Install with proper activation in my opinion.

Here is a nice tutorial by Brink that will be helpful.

Looks like the TaskScheduler Service is having problems - which would have all sorts of knock-on effects.

Please open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands

Code:

REG QUERY "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tasks" /S >>"%userprofile%\Desktop\TSData.txt"
DIR C:\Windows\System32\Tasks /S >>"%userprofile%\Desktop\TSData.txt"

.
This will create a file on your desktop - TSData.txt - please compress it and upload it to your reply.

I get a "The system cannot find the path specified" error even though I have changed the user profile% to me and it does create a file on the desktop, but there is nothing in it.

Can I get the HKey from the regedit program?
It is attached if it is the same and also here is a copy of the cmd prompt text

I really do appreciate it and I am awaiting information from the PC builder about the software
