Error Code 0xC004B100 when trying to activate Windows 7 Ultimate

Upon further searching online, I came upon the MSDN site which states this error message refers to the following: The activation server determined that the computer could not be activated. This is a genuine copy of Windows from MSDN and the key is also from MSDN. To test it, I snagged another key and the same message came up. It also refers me to make sure that the MAK is valid, but I might need to contact MS...Anyone have a clue?

    Thanks

Please followthis tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

    https://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/234159-windows-genuine-activation-issue-posting-instructions.html

Ignore errors produced when clicking on theCopy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup filesfor some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to yourresponse.

Please also statethe Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one)on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOTquote the Key on the sticker!

    That looks fine to me.

You say this is an MSDN Key? - I ask because the CID is not one that I would normally associate with MSDN, but with a probable Retail Upgrade.

It is MSDN....The key's for the iso's they post are for retail. The level of content I have only lists retail product keys...Nothing more unless it's server based.

That's normal for MSDN, and I was aware that the vast majority of the MSDN Keys show as retail. It was simply that the CID was in an area that I wouldn't normally associate as being from MSDN... I'll have to update my files again!

Looking at my records, I've seen the -383- CID around 15-20 times, associated with MGA problems. In every case until now, the exchange of words has ended abruptly after I suggested contacting MS Activation to discuss the problem (in many of these cases the system was failing activation because the Key was blocked).

    Thanks for the confirmation!

    Confirmation of what?

Was it something I did? I wouldnt mind having to contact MS but since this is my company's account I didn't feel the need to do so....LOL

Error 0xc004b100 / Cannot activate windows at this time

I solved this problem by rebooting, unplugging internet cable and or disconnecting from wireless. Then entered the product key and used Microsoft's phone activation. It was successfully activated.
