Win upt-datll es causing blue screen, total shut-down.

Each time, after various eliminations, I d/load the latest batch of updates my system shows the flashing blue screen and enters total shut-down.

My response has been to switch Off Update notification. However, if there is something in this then alll I can do is report where I know a bunch of informed folk may use the info.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Ok. I d/loaded System Update Readiness Tool (presume it did its thing...gave no msg after completion)
    then ran
sfc /scannow - there was a flash onscreen of the window.

    Unable to upload
CBS zip files... even taking one file at a time it still exceeds zip limit.

thanks for yr help ... guess I'll just have to live without updates.

Upload the files to a fileshare site, and post a link (Dropbox and OneDrive are the least hassle)

You seem to have sent a link to your entire dropbox rather than just the file you uploaded (which needs to be in the Public folder) right-click on the file, and select Share... >Send link then copy that link to your reply.

Here's one of the errors from the CBS data - which implies a corrupt download.

    Code:

I can't find any SFC data at all

SFC should take anything from 5 minutes to an hour to run - not just flash past as you said it did.
It sounds as if you attempted to run it from the Search box, rather than from an Elevated Command Prompt.

Please re-read the instructions and try again.
