    Windows Update error 80246008

My computer for some reason has not been able to do updates for several weeks because I keep getting the above error. When I click on it to get help with this error it tells me I need to change or restart the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) by opening Administrative Tools, then Double-click Services, then Right-click the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) service, and then click Properties. On the General tab, next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic (Delayed Start) is selected and Next to Service status, check to see if the service is started. If it's not, click Start. However, when I click start it tells me it can not start the BIT service and gives me an error code of 2147024894.

Now a few weeks ago my wireless internet would not work even though I had it turned on so I went into device manager and there were a bunch of yellow exclamation points next to all of the wireless and networking hardware names in the device manager. I manually went through and repaired them by having to reinstall all the adapter drivers to get my wireless working again. Now I don't know if I did something wrong then but since that time my computer has no longer been able to do windows updates.

I downloaded and ran SURT 4 times. I then ran SFC scan 4 times. I am trying to attach my CBS log file as a zip but don't think its going to work since its 22 MB and the max size is 8 MB. After scan now I got this message; Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them
Details are included in the CBS.log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

We will just have to wait for our expert to drop by and give further instructions. He has been a little under the weather so just hang in there.

I thought I would try to go to Microsoft update catalog and do my required updates through internet explorer but I can't get that to work either. When I go to the Microsoft update catalog webpage it asks me to install an add on so I allow it and then hit run but then it tells me that the add on failed to run. Any ideas?

I have also been using CCleaner and TweakNow for years. Any chance they have messed up my computer when I ran those programs?

If I download the new windows 10 will it fix my problem or should I first get these 23 critical security updates done for windows 7 before downloading windows 10?
