Windows (win7) not genuine after clone to SSD

HP laptop using win7 upgrade (originally purchased with Vista).

After SSD clone of HDD, I got notification that MSFT Office and win7 were "not genuine".

Would like to tackle win7 first. I have COA (sticker) from VISTA handy, but win7 COA is not handy.

Any help would be appreciated. I already tried re-installing the intel rapid storage drivers (with two reboots) to no effect.

    Thanks.

Hi redhelp, welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You have a KMS Client type licence & that is the cause of your problem. See the this notation.

"KMS Client and Volume MAK product keys, are volume license keys that are not-for-resale. They are issued by organizations for use on client computers associated in some way with the organization. Volume license keys may not be transferred with the computer if the computer changes ownership. Consult your organization or the Volume Licensing Service Center for help with volume license keys."

If you no longer work for that organisation, you cannot continue to use it. If you still work there you need to contact them for a new authorisation to use the license.

Where you can find a new copy of Windows 7 is now getting very hard. Someone else may come in with some suggestions on where you can find one.
