Windows 7 home professional claims not genuine, can't update windows.

Since the end of March a window has popped up saying that windows is not genuine. I have had Windows 7 Home Professional x64 since I bought this computer, so it is genuine. I have run Malwarebytes Super Anti Spyware, and I have AVAST. Windows also will not update no matter what I do. System restores will not work either. I have tried to install several Window updates that are supposed to fix these issues but they will not install. The SURT did run and install. When I try with other programs it says error: 800706F7

I have had problems with the .CBS log. With the non genuine problem my Window logs vary between empty and up to 20 gigs.

Please let me know what else you need. Also when ever i reboot i get CLR error 80004005, and it happens when i try to open ComicRack and a few other programs.

This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...&DwnldID=22194

(you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

I hope it is that simple but I don't think it fixed it, I installed the program. It told me the driver i had was a newer version but i installed it anyway.. I still had the CLR error pop up upon rebooting and the updates still failed. The following is the MGA diagnostic report:

OK - we'll try the 'other major solution...
Please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt

NET STOP CRYPTSVC
REN C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CATROOT2 CATROOT2OLD
NET START CRYPTSVC

once complete, leave the system alone for at least an hour to rebuild the database, then reboot, and run another MGADiag report and post the results.

Note that this may delete your Update History - but all updates will remain installed, and can be viewed in the Installed Updates listing.

Thank you for your help, I did that, it only took a couple seconds before it said it had finished starting but I let it sit for about an hour and a half anyway. I did restart it but the problems persist, though oddly the CLR error warning now pops up twice when I boot up.

Hmm - let's have a look at the event logs...
Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
Save the file as Appevt.evtx
Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

Under file there wasn't a save option, but there was a save option on the left side. I'm not sure that makes a difference, also when I did save them it asked me something about display language so other computers could read it, so I left that how it was.

Do you have Alcohol 120% installed? - if so, please uninstall it.

Please run this tool - http://www.duplexsecure.com/download...t-v187-x64.exe which will uninstall any residual SPTD driver
The SPTD driver is known to be unstable in Windows 7 - and can cause this type of problem.

You seem also to be having problems with Adobe products - but I think this is an effect rather than a cause.

Then...
Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

I do not have have Alcohol 120%, I actually had to look up what it was.

When I ran the SPTD removal program and it did uninstall something.

The whole folder was much to large, and each of the CBSpersists were to large to post as well. So this is only the most recent.

You have some MAJOR problems.
The SFCDetails report shows this...

I really think that it's likely that your best option is a reformat/reinstall either using the manufacturer's recovery media, or a clean-install process.
