    Continual update failure codes,most often 80070643


    I have been having Windows 7 update problems for several months.Primarily out of stubbornness I was determined to find the solution on my own.As a result of my arrogance I have spent countless hours trying every fix I can find on Microsoft as well as various online resources.All to no avail.So today I am reaching out for help.My goal of course is to get this machine to update but also to migrate it to Windows 10 at some point.

    I do have a couple of questions about this process. First,I copied the CBS folder and zipped it but the file size is still a whopping 344mb.How do I get it to the required 8mb size?
    Second,I have a screenshot of failed updates from several days ago-is that OK to post?

    Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

    If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

    Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

    Thank you. After following your instructions the re-zipped file is still 83.1 mb.
