Error code 800B0100 when installing update KB3020370

I just recently installed windows 7 on my home computer, so of course there were something like 180 updates to install.

I initially allowed windows update to automatically download the important updates, which it selected all but one. Then once it finished downloading, I installed by clicking the shutdown button that was saying "install updates and then shutdown your computer.

about 3 hours later it was up to update 142 of 179, when I got home from work 5 hours later, it was still on update 142 of 179. A colleague at work from the windows support team told me that if I rebooted, windows would just clean up, and to then retry the install doing no more than 20-30 at a time, so I did this, and then once windows had cleaned itself up, I proceeded to install the updates in groups of about 20, but I found that if I tried to install more than 2 of the .net 3.5 updates at a time, they would fail, so I dropped back to one .net update followed by 10 - 15 others. In this way I was able to install nearly ALL the updates, with the exception of KB3020370. It always fails to install now with 800B0100.

I went googling for the error and found this forum. Hoping you can assist.

CBS file was too big, so I've uploaded it to my dropbox here https://www.dropbox.com/s/etpltn1ci585ijk/CBS.zip?dl=0

    Regards,
    John

    I've uploaded a file - tdjaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder tdjaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Here are the new CheckSUR and CheckSUR.persist files.

I see what happened - no problem...
    I've uploaded a file - tdjab.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder tdjab in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Manifests)

Copy the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Good - CheckSUR is happy now.
With any luck, Windows Update will now work properly.
Do a Check for Updates, and attempt to install ONLY the oldest update found, What happens?

If it goes in OK, try the rest.
If it fails, post the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file
