Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate Update Error code 0x8007370b

Hello,
I have been fighting this issue for quite some time, and I am about read to give up and just re-install. But I see that people have been able to resolve this issue on here, so I will give it a try. I have been unable to run Windows Update successfully for quite some time. I keep getting 8007370B error code. i have tried the Microsoft Fix-It windows update tool and it finds issues and asks to reboot and nothing changes.

I have run the System Update Readiness Tool
I can't run the SFC Scan. It goes for a while and then gives the following error "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
Windows Update gives me 8007370B Error

I have reviewed the checkSUR log and it appears like I have a lot of issues with this installation, so I don't know if it is worth trying to fix it or just better to do a clean install.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Nathan

Here's the summary from the CheckSUR report...
Quote:

CSI C Mark Deployment Not Marked Total count: 4
CSI C Mark Deployment Missing Total count: 10
CSI Replacement File: CreateFile Failed Total count: 60
I may be able to fix some of the problems - but I suspect that you have a hardware problem that needs to be addressed first.

Please follow this tutorial and post the results - run at least 3 full passes.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+
If you get even a single failure, you need to think about replacing the RAM - or at least reseating it.

I did have one DIMM that was throwing an error right at the start of the test. I have removed it (and it's matching pair) from the system and will be RMA'ing the pair. I have memtest running on the other 2 dimms now and will check on it when I get home. Should I be re-running the Upgrade Readiness Tool if everything is clean after this?

Ok, let it run all day, and there were no errors found with just the 2 sticks in there. I re-ran the System Update Readiness Check and same amount of errors, 137.

Ooops - I meant to ask for a copy of your COMPONENTS registry hive...
I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive

Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.

NoelDP,
Please don't spend anymore time on this. If you already started on it, I apologize. I was able to do an offline upgrade to Win10 this weekend. For some reason I couldn't go to 8 or 8.1 via an in place upgrade, but I could go to 10. So I am up and working with no errors any more on windows update.
Thanks
Nathan
