I had a feeling you may have done - no, there's no point in keeping the old folders after a couple of days, as they are quickly outdated.

I'll get back to you on what we can try next - gotta get some stuff done!

You have three error codes in that log -

Please open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command...

DIR C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\20eeb2d6d75fd514e6c40ef5c678c772

I rather expect it to return 'not found' - but if it does find anything, please post the results.

Not found, as you suspected.

(Edit) Upon reading the section of the log which you posted, it looks like it is indeed just one particular part of the download, correct? Or when it says "1 download still in progress" does it count the whole pack as one download?

It's been awhile since your last reply. Are you out of ideas to help me? I totally understand if you are. There's only so much you can do to help me without having direct access to my computer.

I have done a little bit of work (Showed my dad the logs you had me send, and we looked up those error codes.)

The only solution that we tried was this command:
Cmd /c ren %WinDir%\System32\Spupdsvc.exe Spupdsvc.old
It didn't help, but something interesting happened on the microsoft page which showed us that: It thought this computer was running Windows XP. It had a warning at the top saying "Windows XP is no longer supported," but now when I go back to that page, it no longer has that message.

This computer has NEVER had XP on it, so i don't know why that happened. I kind of doubt that it matters, but that's an interesting happenstance and I find it odd that it could happen at all.

That warning appears on any KB article which relates to XP- not the machine looking at the article.
I had thought about that article myself, but I'm not sure that it relates to WU in later OS's since the update systems have changed significantly.

Please try this -
I've uploaded a file - wmirebuild.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Save it to the default location
This should create a file wmirebuild.bat
*
*right-click on the file, and select Run as Administrator
Accept the warnings,
Once it's finished running, (may take a couple of minutes)
Close all windows, and reboot.
*
Then Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command…

winmgmt /verifyrepository

Post the results of that command, and test Windows Update.

So far so good. Verifying the repository gave me "WMI repository is consistent." Running windows update now, and will update you when it's done (no pun intended )

Curses! Another failed update, with the same error code. ):

I am utterly confused. I tried your instructions twice just in case I had made a mistake along the way the first time, but it still failed. The repository is still consistent, btw. Don't know if there was any expected change there. I don't suppose you have another trick up your sleeve?

Let's try a couple of things...

Open an Elevated Command Prompt and run the following commands:

IPCONFIG /ALL
NETSH WINSOCK RESET
reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyServer /f
NETSH WINHTTP RESET

post the results, reboot, try the update again - then post the new CBS.log and windowsupdate.log files.
