The installed Key is a Retail Key (and I use Scan myself for some stuff - so I know they are reputable) - there is the possibility that you've misread a character from the Proof of License card, or that the Key you have is one which isn't valid for installing on SP1 (MS changed the algorithm for SP1, and this invalidated a number of Keys, although they still work for RTM installs)

Until the machine goes out of grace, I can't tell you much more than that - although it may help if you install KB971033 and post the MGADiag again, I suspect it will tell us nothing new yet.

When you speak to the operator - ask these questions if they tell you it's blocked, still

1) When was it blocked?
2) Why was it blocked? - too many activations?/Abuse?/multiple machines?
3) what type of block is it? (There are at least three different types)
4) what type of Key is it? (upgrade or Full? - although your packaging should state this!)

If you have the relevant paperwork - receipts, case, POL card, etc, ask if they will issue a new Key.

in the Search box, type
SLUI 4
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you
Thanks for the reply. I have activated my copy of win 7Pro with a slip streamed copy including SP1 without any problems in the past. Also my copy is a full version and not an upgrade. I have the box it came in and the card with the license, but no receipt. I will contact MS again as you suggest and see what they can or will do. At the moment i'm running Win 10 Pro and Win 7 is on my spare SSD.
