Win Update 'check updates' never finishes

I bought a new computer with W7 and wanted to get the update to reserve my W10 copy but ran into the problem that the "checking for updates" screen never found anything and continued searching. I've googled the problem and have found dozens of solutions which I've tried all, many of them were from this very forum which is why I joined to see if I could be helped. The Fix it program did find problems but didn't fix it, when I go to CMD there are some commands I am not allowed to do even when I run as an administrator, Win Update doesn't run on Safe Mode even with networking on and whatnot. I've uninstalled McAffee and all the Lenovo bloatware on the computer which did seem to be affecting the performance. I even restored the computer to factory settings. The only thing I haven't done is let Windows Update run all night, I've only left it on for about 3 hours but I think that's enough. Here is the .zip file of my logs..

Is there anyway I can even manually install the updates? I mean all I really want is Windows 10 and I guess when I install that this problem would technically be fixed right?

any help would really be appreciated, thanks!

How long did you leave it checking? I've had problems with it but yesterday after probably 2 to 3 hours checking it finally came up with updates. I turned off the power option that allowed the pc to sleep so that it was on all the time just in case.

Hi,
A new computer is probably so out of date there could be literally hundreds of updates due for this machine best policy is to be patient
It also depends on how fast your internet connection is....

Windows also needs to be activated as well,
Click the Start button and right click the Computer listing on the right column and click on Properties

On the bottom does it say Windows is activated ?
If not click on activate now.

Well as soon as I made this post I was able to download some updates so I don't know if it was that I hadn't left the PC on long enough for it to download them all or if it was some of the things I had tried doing, it still hasn't installed everything yet but at least it's no longer stuck on that. I'm actually thinking of restoring it back to factory settings again since I'm afraid I may have messed with something in the registry I shouldn't have. Thanks for everything though.
